Insectorvm II: Clock of Mortality

$25.00
This series honors INSECTORVM sive Minimorum Animalium Theatrvm, or Theatre of Insects by Thomas Moffett published in 1634. It has always been explained as an appreciative, colorful and descriptive ode to insects. I’m using a particularly light, twilightish pastel color scheme that reminds me of the delicate parts of summer color in the hours where insects present themselves to their most productive times, evening. I chose this color scheme with Thomas in mind, imagining him looking at insects in magical full and wondrous color like I do.

This limited series is about productivity, liveliness, and cycles. It’s also just about admiration.

Thomas Moffett was particularly enamored with spiders.

A 9x12 print.

Aside from art, my main passion is animal rescue, and veterinary behavior cat consultation. I love to raise money and support the relationship between humans and their animals through art! For these lofi pieces, I pour myself some coffee, put on the tunes, and draw what I hear.
